Essay Contest Winners Recognition Luncheon
This is our club’s annual event, held in March at Pio’s restaurant, where we recognize the winners of the Club level essay contest, first, second, and third places along with their guests. A variety of famous Pio’s pizzas is served for lunch, followed by the presentation of the winning essays, starting with the third-place winner. Each winner receives a certificate and a cash prize according to their placement, and group pictures are taken.
It is always a rewarding event to attend to support those remarkable students.
Oratorical Contest Winners Recognition
This is our club’s annual event, held at Pio’s restaurant, where we recognize the winners of the Club level oratorical contest, first, second, and third places along with their guests. A variety of famous Pio’s pizzas is served for lunch, followed by the presentation of the winning speeches, starting with the third-place winner. Each winner receives a certificate and a cash prize according to their placement, and group pictures are taken.

Jefferson Intermediate School Love Awards
The Love Awards is a great annual event recognizing 10 amazing Jefferson Intermediate students and one great teacher. These students are selected based on the strength of character and empathy. Students who are brought out to a spotlight receive a special trophy for their extraordinary acts of kindness and love towards others. District and Community Leaders including the Optimist Club representative are featured on the stage and shakes hands with each award recipient.
This unique awards ceremony continues to champion the importance of service and character in the hearts of St. Charles students. Past years Love Awards recipients are invited to participate in this event also.
After the ceremony, a group picture is taken and awardees are treated with a special trolley trip and a small reception to recognize their achievements.
High School Senior Scholarship Award
Annually, our club awards scholarships to deserving High School Seniors from Lutheran High St. Charles, Orchard Farm High, Duchesne High, St. Charles and St. Charles West High. Usually, the reception to honor these students is held in May at Pio’s restaurant.
Youth in Government
Annually in November, our club honors exemplary high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in public service.
High School Choir Christmas Concert
This is an annual event that rotates between St. Charles High School and St. Charles West choirs and is one of our favorite programs. The enthusiasm and talents of young people bring some Christmas Cheer and highlight our Holiday Season.
