2025 St. Charles School District Family Festival
Monday, August 11th, 2025
Location: St. Charles High School, 725 N. Kingshighway St., St. Charles
In the late afternoon, the Family Festival brought together different community and service organizations, local health-care providers, and families to celebrate the upcoming school year. There were many informational resources for adults, candies for kids, free toiletry kits, and other handouts, as well as free vegetables and fruits distributed by one of the local volunteer organizations.
A free school vaccination booth was located in a hallway near the gym entrance, where shots were administered by Compass Health personnel to those who had registered in advance.
An inflatable obstacle course and a bean bag toss game were in the school yard to entertain young visitors. Grilled hot dogs, chips, and cold water were served to the festival’s guests by the St. Charles Fire Department. A cup filled with blue raspberry or cherry-flavored shaved ice was a special treat on that hot day.

Our young volunteers
The Optimist Club of St.Charles table was a busy place where we had a variety of free school supplies (notebooks, mechanical and color pencils, markers, highlighters, and pens) as well as hygienic products (packs of tissue paper, toothpaste, and toothbrushes).
Once filled with school supplies, the table became empty in an hour, and in the second hour, our community outreach team spent time interacting with visitors who were interested to learn more about our Club and what we do.
